One of my hens has a floppy big comb that hangs over her face, lately I noticed that it was going purple on the edges, is she dying? Does anyone know what this is a symptom of?

It sounds like she is not getting proper circulation to the comb.
I had a friend who had a roo that started doing that and it progressively worsened. Unfortuneately the bird fell over dead one day while in the yard. We assume it was a heart attack or stroke but do not know for certain.
I wish I had some good advice on the matter but I must say that I am very poorly informed on the subject. Perhaps someone else can be more helpful.
I wish you the best of luck and that your bird recovers.

Thanks, she seems pretty happy and normal otherwise, so I hope she is fine. Does anyone know if a chicken can get sunburn?? I live in Oz and think that could be a possibility, as strange as it sounds!

I have a buddy who lives in Werribee, Victoria

I suppose that a chicken could suffer from sunburn. I know other animals can. It would seem logical that a chicken would be no different.
