please give opionion I want to buy an incubator I am new

Hello I can finally have some chickens and I have dreams of hatching babies and having lots of babies lol. I have several young hens who are laying eggs but just push their eggs around the pen. I am thinking of buying an encubator sp? What should I get? I dont want anything too expensive. Should I wait and see if the chickens will sit? The eggs are getting pushed all over the pen. Please help.

Yes!!! It's so exciting to hatch your own babies. But I have to warn you, its very very addicting!

As to what type of bator, thats a big question. If you have building skills, I dont, you can build your own! Just do a search for incubators and many many will come up on this site. good luck!

I wouldn't Suggest the Little Giants.

You might want to take the eggs out of the pen, especially if they're just being pushed around. The reason being is if one gets cracked open, the chickens may investigate and find they like the taste of their own eggs. That's all you need to have happen, a pen full of egg eaters!

If you don't have alot of money and I'm assuming anything over 50-100 is alot of money to you (to me too!), you may want to start with a Little Giant still air, the opinions on these bators vary from good to bad, it's a crapshoot I think, no matter which bator you get. It's a thought, and others will be chiming in I'm sure!
