My chicken started getting lethargic two days ago. I brought her inside yesterday as I noticed she was starting to be unsteady on her feet and sleeping a lot. She has only gotten worse. She has been sleeping with her head twisted back like this and periodically has episodes that appear to be seizures where she shakes her head and falls backwards. I have given her vitamin supplements, electrolytes and eggs. I don’t know what is causing this and seeing her in pain is killing me. Any help is appreciated

We did see a mushroom outside that looks like one of the chickens ate before we found it. Would an epsom salt flush work for that?

I'm not an expert but it should work for a toxin ingested. I don't know if it is too late, but I think its worth it to try. I'll see what others chime in too...

How old is she? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? She has what looks to be wry neck (torticolis.) That can be a symptom of head or neck injury, vitamin E deficiency, and some diseases, including Mareks, Newcastles, and a few others. I would treat her with human vitamin E 400 IU, a 1/4 tablet of B complex, and a little scrambled egg daily for selenium. Feed her at least twice a day with some egg, watery chicken feed to get enough food and water into her while her neck is twisted. Keep her separate if she is being picked on, but if she needs to see the others, let her have supervised visits with the flock or a good friend.
