Please help: Copper Maran with broken foot feather/bloody growth.

I noticed blood on my 12week old roosters foot feathers when I got home from work. I have never seen anything like this before. I sprayed it with vetericyn plus and wrapped it up. Is there anything more I should do? The brown stuff around the red growth is kind of scabby, i couldn’t tell if it was poop or dried blood. His other foot looks clean and no blood/poop or broken feathers.

Looks like the feather shaft is still intact, I would pull that out with a pair of pliers.
