I just had my d'uccle lay her first egg. She was being chased around all day by the roo. Then she layed her egg. Normally she beds down with him in the box at night. But tonight she didn't want anything to do with him So she is sleeping out of the box. Has anyone ever expirenced a moody pullet like this?

Can somebody please coment on this. I just want to know if there is something I should be doing for her?

thank you. I was planning on leaving her alone. But, I just didnt expect that she would be acting so standoffish now. She normally is really sweet and cuddly. But that would make sence, that she could be sore. Im sure thats probabbly what it is. Poor little thing! Thanks again.

well the first egg of corse is the hardest one unless it gets weird shape and huge but other than that she will get use to laying and get comfortable again and she should be just fine
