please help gray/brown crud looking stuff on roosters earlobe is this normal

heres a picture with the head of him its not dirt i already tryed rubbing it off he is a cockerel not full grown its a little blurry

It looks like it could be his normal ear lobe color coming through. I’m not entirely sure just a guess.

I have seen the white show through the red similar to what it looks in the picture several generations after white ear lines.

If the other side looks the same, it is probably normal coloring.
