I want to order from Ideal next year, but everything is always sold out by summertime. And I cannot order in the spring because the cold weather will kill the babies! Is there a way to pre-order from them before they sell out, and receive the order during the summer?

you could probably call them now or soon and see if they could place an order for you for the summer

It wouldn't hurt to try to pre-order now, if you know what you want and when you want it. I ordered my birds a few months in advance and didn't have any issues. I noticed, that later on as the year progressed that they were more sold out. I guess more people want them in the spring, instead of during the colder months. So if you ask for them earlier in the winter, when you want them in spring you may be fine, or if you don't mind getting them through the colder months.

Good luck

Yes you can call in or email them... I suggest calling though. Also they can give you notices on certain breeds so that you will know when they will be available. You click on the breed that is sold out and where there should be the order buttong there is something about contacting you when ready and you click that link.

Things were sold out this year because there was an incredible run on chicks at all the hatcheries. I imagine they will have plenty next year.

So I can place an order in, say, the early spring when they're still in stock and then I can specify the date for them to ship?

I just want to get all the breeds of my choice in late summer so they won't die of cold, when Ideal would otherwise be sold out.
