please help identify

I'm sure there is someone out there with expertise in caterpillars. I saw my one tomato palnt was full of holes. Upon closer inspection I found caterpillars. They are not fuzzy. The back is black, has two yellow stripes on either side. There are some other colors of stripes also. There is a black dot on either side of the caterpillar. I didn't think it was a tomato hornworm. There were dozens on just this one tomato plant.
I am adding a pic, but it is small, so I don't know if you can tell from the pic what it is or not. I couldn't find the caterpillar in my Family Butterfly book.
