I think they are bantam brahmas or Cochins? Leaning towards brahmas but definitely unsure. Can anyone please assist in confirming their breed? Genders too if possible. Thank you so much! Attaching photos of them right after I bought them to current đź–¤ IMG_1041.jpeg chick 1 IMG_1040.jpeg IMG_1040.jpeg chick1 IMG_1038.jpeg chick 1 IMG_1037.jpeg chick 2 IMG_1036.jpeg chick 2 IMG_1035.jpeg chick 2 IMG_1034.jpeg chick 2

They're a lil young to be sure, but so far nothing screams rooster to me about either. You'll have to wait until they're older to confirm breed as well. You can't really be sure of breed or sex until they're significantly older.

How old are they? It is too early to say for sex.

The first one looks to be a light Brahma. Why do you think it is a bantam? That looks like a normal sized chick to me.

The second look to be a mix. I may be wrong but it for sure isn’t a pure Brahma.

They were sold to me as bantams at tractor supply. Thank you for your response đź–¤

Tractor supply doesn’t usually sell mixes, so I’m guessing they’re both pure Brahma. The main difference between Brahmas and Cochins is the comb; Brahmas will have a pea comb and Cochins have a single comb. They both come in the Columbian feather pattern though, which is what both your birds are. :) You could get close up comb photos to see if that helps, but they’re so little it can be tough to tell.

there isn’t any Brahma variety that looks like that as a chick.

never mind, I knew that they could be light gray to light yellow but I didn't realize they could be so dark gray until I just looked it up now.
