I am a NYC public school teacher and each spring our school hatches chick and duckling eggs. This year we had one little duck that took 5 days to hatch out and when he finally emerged his feet were curled and turned in, making him unable to walk. I have nursed him and he is now strong and full of energy. He has some trouble walking as he's gotten bigger and I just cannot keep him in my apartment for much longer. I have also been taking him to work every day because I don'l like to leave him alone for more than 3 hours. He's is now just over 2 weeks old.
This little one is a fighter and since day one has had the will and energy to survive. Any suggestions or other contacts you may have would be greatly appreciated or if there is someone who wants to offer him a home. Patito, little duckling in Spanish, is really such a sweetie and I'll do whatever I can to get him to a good home. Thanks!!
