Hi! I have 11 grey (mallard colored) Call ducks that I got this spring to show in the county fair. They just started molting their feathers a little over a week ago. So far it looks like 8 out of the 11 are males. Out of the three possible hens, one has a weird gait when she walks. I'm left with two possible hens. My question is, do the females have just a tiny bit of green tinge on their head feathers? Just the tiniest bit? Like at the tips of the brown feathers if you look really close? Is there like a website somewhere showing how to sex Mallards?
I'm gonna try and get some pictures but I can't promise anything. Also, are there any really good websites about Call ducks? I need to know a little more about the standard of perfection but I can't find any info online. I'm kinda stressing out here.
Thanks for any help!
