Yes, girls - I have an EE that looks just like the darker one and she is so sweet! I call her my "squishy chicken" because she is just like a stuffed animal and loves to be hugged (name is Snickers).

i know for sure the black sex-link is a hen, the roosters look like barred rocks or dominickers, the ameraucana looks like a hen too!

ty everyone i was so worried that my BSL and one of my EE's are a roo One of my EE's has very long tail feathers that droops they are molting so is that why her tail feather seem to look long and droops also what about the face off the BSL and one of the EE's has they raise their neck feathers up and they seem kind of pointy what could they be doing trying to show who is the dominate hen again thanks for all the help

My hens and pullets will puff up the top half of their hackle feathers to intimidate other chickens to show dominance, and some of my hens will flare (puff all the hackle feathers) at my dogs, cats, and when they fight each other.
And they all look like girls to me also.
