Ok thanks, I thought she was a girl too. Do you think her neck looks long? I think she is a little weird looking.lol- I still love her. She is a very nice chicken. I hope she is an EE. That would be great. Her hackle has just gotten thick in the past week or so. They seem to be growing very quickly.
It is an EE, but it is hard to judge its age without something to reference size nearby. It still seems young to me - maybe 3 months?, but maybe even younger. If it has grown noticeably in the last week, that makes me think it is closer to 2 months of age.
How long have you had it? Was it completey feathered out when you got it?
The following pictures are all easter eggers of different ages -
These are only 7-8 weeks of age:
This one is 12 weeks old (less than 3 months)
This one is 16 weeks old (3 1/2 months) -- child is 3 1/2 years old:
These two are 16 weeks (same as the one sitting on my granddaughters lap). At this age, they are growing slowly and are almost as tall as my full-grown chickens - they still need to fill out though:
Here's one more pic of some 7-8 week old chicks - this picture has a better size reference for you (the red & white waterer is the 1 gallon size). The lighter brown chick in this pic is an EE. Does this still seem about the same size as your chick?
