Hello, my gander is about 3.5 years old. He's my big spoiled goof. His name is Pretty Bird. He is a gorgeous Canada x swan goose hybrid. Yesterday he made some funny noises for a moment and chocked on his food for a second .. no big deal, as he was fine within less then 5 min. Today, same this, but NO FOOD... just grazing outside. This time he was gaping, gasping and making high pitched squeeks. I send some breeders a short clip asking how I could help him if he's choking and they said it looked like worms... He hasn't really stopped for the past hour. So I ran to the feed store right before they closed and all they had was "POULTRY DEWORMER 5X". Main ingredient : *"FENBENDAZOLE"*
IS THIS SAFE?! ANYONE USE THIS FOR GEESE BEFORE??
I HAVE NEVER WORMED HIM BEFORE...
ANYONE KNOW THE DOSING?! I BEEN RESEARCHING FOR 45 MIN AND CANT FIND DOSING...
I'm trying to find a way to attach a video of him . Thank you! Please help ....

How did they verify worms from a video? How are his poops? and what is his diet?
@Goosebaby
He has been gasping, they are professional licensed (permit holding) game waterfowl breeders and when I sent the video, and they heard the noises and saw his panting/gasping, they said that he was acting like he had worms. That I should treat him as a precaution. He is STILL panting .. but not as badly as earlier.
My gander has never been wormed, and he is not molting ... I do not believe that a worming would hurt.. as most I spoke to recommended. But I'm in a VERY small town in TX & ALL THEY HAD WAS 1 OPTION FOR DEWORMER AT THE FEED STORE. I can't find the dosing for it for geese anywhere... Though many have said that it's safe for geese, they didn't remember the dosing. I will try to upload the video on YT and add the link. I love this silly goofy goose .. he's my baby, and I can not imagine loosing him.... We are also dealing with a issue with out bank, leaving us with NO MONEY until the 1st.. (we found out AFTER I rushed to the feed store to buy the dewormer,, before they closed) IM JUST DESPERATE TO DO RIGHT BY HIM... Should I take him inside? Heatwave above 100-110 has been going on non stop for about 2 months with NO RAIN... and humidity has been high... 30-50% most days. I'm sorry if I'm random and unorganized in my response... Do you know the dosage? For fenbendazole? For a goose?
There is no discharge from his nose and no swelling on his face. He is not sneezing, just wheezing.. thought I was going to loose him for a min there..

Yes, it's the same dose for all poultry, it's 14 mg per pound of bodyweight for five consecutive days. Does your feed store have Safeguard for Goats? Safeguard paste for horses? Panacur paste for horses? If so, get that and give 0.14 ml per pound of bodyweight orally for five consecutive days.
