Thanks from me too! This was very helpful. I will be getting at least 8 ducks, all WH. Hubby scored 2-21 foot chain link fence panels that are 6 foot high(from work, they are industrial panels and were headed for the landfill
). We were going to put these up against the garden fence(welded wire) and the backyard fence( chain link) for a pen that would be 21' square. Allowing for about a 3' gate on upper side makes that 24' x 21' or 504 square feet. So for 8 ducks we really need to extend the upper side to something like 34 or 35 feet. Is that correct? We have the space to do it but hubby will grouse about losing 10 more feet of yard space. LOL We were working on a 6x8 duck house but 6x6 will be fine ....would that be correct? I would add that we were not going to depend on chain link alone around the pen. I have both welded wire and hardware cloth to reinforce the sides. We are putting the pen up against the garden for a reason....very slight slope there and hoping to drain the duck pool into the garden. Thanks for any thoughts!
