if someone could tell me why my chickens comb has started to turn purple that would be great and if there is any remedy to treat her.

She has frostbite put her in a warm space and give her warm food and vitamins. Don't make it too hot and mostly try to slowly warm her up.

Hello, I am in northern New Jersey. This is my first time having chickens. I was told that I do not need a heater for the coop, just a thick layer of bedding. I have 13 chickens and all of the others appear to be fine and have a bright red comb. What would be the best way of heating her up?

Put her in your house or a shed with a water bottle full of warm water or hold her in front of a heater or stove.
Don't hold her in front of the heater too long it might burn her, feel under the wings for her temperature.
When she unfluffs herself she will be warmed up.
The frostbite will slowly heal.
Heaters in coops are very dangerous so just keep the coop door open just enough for chickens to leave and come back at will, this will preserve heat.

Cold does not cause frostbite, moisture does. It seems like your coop needs proper ventilation. There is no need to bring the cm chicken in; leave her be, don’t touch or put anything on the comb. Frostbite is painful when touched. In the meantime try and fix the ventilation in your coop so the moisture is going out and not settling on their combs.
