We are experiencing our first hatch:) But we have an egg that pipped yesterday afternoon and has made very little progress since. I haven't really seen any movement this afternoon. The pip is a little closer to the small end than the big end. Should we do something to help this little guy?

What day are you on? Do you have any other eggs? Have any of the others pipped? Hatched?
Have you opened the incubator?
If you are on day 19 or 20, I would leave it for a while longer... sometimes they pip early.
Have you candled the eggs?
My best advice, with the info I read in your first post, is to leave it alone. Don't open the incubator... you'll cause the humidity to drop & compromise your hatch.

We are on day 22. We had 4 hatch yesterday and 2 today. We have two that are pipped including the one that pipped yesterday. We have left it alone. Just wondered if there was something we could do. Thanks for the response. I guess we'll just pray and hope for the best:)

While I know it is hard to leave it alone and not help, ask yourself are you willing to risk the other 2 that are pipped to try to help the one? Personally I would leave it, let the other 2 hatch then if you feel the need to help make the decision at that time.

I know my case is a little different. I had an egg under a broody it pipped. 24 hrs later it was not out. I was sure it was dead but I left it alone. Now I have a beautiful little chick. It pipped about half way down too. Give it some more time. Goooo little chick. Gloria Jean
