14 week old barred rock. Is this A rectal prolapse? If so why is the tissue so dark?

Should I try to push it back in?

Ok I just put honey on it and pushed it back in. She won't eat or drink so I water on her beak and she pushed her rectum back out. It almost look a dog going to the bathroom. Should I put her down?

Oh my that is a bad prolapse. The tissue is pretty dark like it could be necrotic or dead from drying out. Usually healthy tissue is bright red. I wonder if it might have been out awhile? You could try putting it back in and holding it, but I'm afraid that it may not help. Just to make it clear, I have not treated one like that before, just read about them. I would make some plans on how to put her down if necessary. Sorry about your hen.

That's what I was afraid of. I found her this morning huddled in the corner of the coop with blood underneath of her.
