Hello,

i am going to free range my guineas during the day and want them to go into their coop at night.

On this site and in the Gardening With Guineas book I have seen it written the guineas must be locked in their coop for six weeks.

Can I take them out for an hour or so during the day to eat bugs, eat grass, and get some fresh air while supervising them? Or do they need to be in the coop 24/7 for the six weeks?

This will settle a debate between my dad and I. ;)

Thanks!!

Thanks!!

Supervised outings are fine. It may be advisable to only take out part of the group at any one time to give the others more incentive to return. A couple of long sticks held out on either side can be very helpful in controlling the direction the guineas go.

Good luck.
