Hello, I'm hoping someone could please give me some advise. I got a Silkie cockerel that was advertised a month or so ago. He is 18 wks old and initially seemed well, I kept him isolated from the flock and within a few days found mites and lice on him, I've treated him for these and now he is clear of them. Earlier this week he seemed very tired and was sleeping a lot looking all ruffled up, he isn't putting any weight on and is very skinny. I got some corrid to add to his water in case it is coccidiosis and yesterday he seemed a little better. I went out this morning and found him lying in his side in the run. I picked him up and put him on his feet and he able to stand and walk but very unsteadyly, he loses his balance and falls over easily. He is eating well, have given him marriage pellets treated with flubenvet I'm case of worms, which he is gobbling up. He doesn't seem to be drinking as much as he is eating. His bottom is now mucky from green watery poo, he wasn't this bad yesterday and I thought he was getting better. I don't know what else to do. I really don't want to lose him, he is such a sweet little boy. Please could someone advise, Everytime ive taken a chicken to the vets they've put it down and said that not much can be done, so I'm hesitant to go if im able to treat in any way at home. Please help.

Hopefully, he is just weak and dehydrated from possible coccidiosis. Mareks disease could also be a possibility, especially if he wasn't vaccinated, but I hope it is not that. I would give him some poultry vitamins in his water or food, in case of a vitamin deficiency. Here are some links to read about Mareks:
