I would appreciate some help if anyone knows what this is. My auraucauna-leghorn mix (i think) was trying to lay her first egg after a molt the other day and was unable to do so. She was listless and exhausted. That night what appeared to be possibly yolk was on her bum. The next morning I gave her a warm bath and even carefully felt up inside for a broken or stuck egg and felt nothing. Yesterday she was acting normal and no longer was interested in laying her egg and this morning she is acting normal and trotting about but inside the henhouse I discovered a very large off white semi solid mass broke into 3 pieces. Approximately the total size of an egg... but I have no idea! It is as if it was hard boiled inside of her. By the way, I did smell it and it really didn't smell like anything.
I do not know her age as she is a rescue but she lays unusually large blue eggs. can someone please assist me? Is she ok? I really love this hen.
