Hi all, it's the newbie from Tassie here again, I promise not to ask any more dumb questions for at least a week if someone can help me here.

Do these 2 brothers that are about 8 months old show predominant characteristics of any particular breed?

Rhonda

Slick

And then there is Cuddles, he is at least 12 months old, crowing and doing his roosterly duties.

Thanking you all in eager anticipation,

Cheers, Dalles

The only other roo I have seen with similar body and tail to Cuddles is a Leghorn.

I'm not suggesting that's what he is but I haven't seen anything closer.

I will probably breed from him as this is all we have so it would good to have an idea what we are starting with.

cheers, Dalles

Now that you mention fluffy legs HappyMtn, he has a little bit of leg fluff. Will try to get a picture to prove it later today if I get a chance. Thanks for the tip will hunt around for some pics of those breeds.

I saw the leg feathers on Slick. It helps to click on the photos to enlarge them. They are really cool-looking guys, but I don't have a clue what they are! Hopefully someone else can have a good guess for you...

I actually think that Partridge rock is very likely, the coloring is very simular. But with so much black on the underside and the feathered legs, my best guess is a cross between some kind of cochin and partridge rock.

I actually have a lot of this cross, my roo is a black cochin. They look so simular it is not funny. Of course, they never got that big because we ate them. But I think it is somethign like that.

But if they are full brothers, the top one has white legs. So maybe some orpington?

Come to think of it, feathered legs are dominant, so I dont think they could be full brothers.
