explain the physical differences (besides the rust on the neck) between australorp and english black copper maran pullets of similar age around 6 - 8 weeks. I received some chicks from a friend, she stated that some were BCM and one was BA. I can't tell the difference in breeds between all 3 chicks...LOL
Thanks

Honestly I find it interesting that one would actually find English standard and truly purebred Black Coppers, but, that aside - As youngins it is a little hard to tell, however the Marans should grow bigger and faster, and eventually have a better looking body (more filled out) But of course, not all Marans are nicely filled out.
