Ok so this is my 6X4x4. Coop for 7 bantams size chickens. I live in Tx so summers are my season of concern for ventilation and comfort. the front facing the run is to the north and back to the south. The only ventilation i have now is on the E and W sides where thewallsmeet the roof and on the south side there is a 3" Gap between wall and roof covered with hardware clothe of course...question is do I need more ventilation and if so where and how and any other suggestions on the coop is appreciated. Thanks!

The chickens are not in there yet but it WILL have a covered run by the time they go out there and also the coop and run are in my hot wired fenced in yard gaurded by 2 chicken friendly pit bulls so I felt a chicken wire run would be ok.... all opinions welcome yall won't hurt my feelings!

If you get high temps and high humidity, you will most like;y benefit from more ventilation. Cut a couple of holes, in two of the sides up near the top. How big the hole are depends on how hot and damp it gets there, and how you internal coop structure is. I would suggest at least 50-100 square inches for each hole, but that is up to you. Cover the holes with hardware cloth so nothing can get in. Make sure that you put the holes on locations that won't put any direct wind on the birds while they are roosting.

It 4 foot and the highest roost is 2 foot. what do you think about some pop open Windows on the E and W sides??

At the top of my coop is a 8'X2' hole that wil be covered with wire than I'll hang a door that will open and close.

And I've also put in a window easy open easy close to give airflow
GOOD LUCK!
