I have a pekin that is around 5 weeks old. (Well i have 4). I was cleaning their pen that i have in the house currently and they were swimming in the slip sink as usual ..i let the water out and went to start putting them back and noticed one seemed to be having trouble walking. I put the others away and seperated her immediately. I put her in a big Rubbermaid bin and she was sort of limping and couldnt hold herself up and when she went to walk she would stumble or fall which broke my heart. Not even a minute after I put her in the bin she had what I am assuming is a seizure. Her legs went out straight behind her, her neck went backward and she fell onto her side. She just laid there. She didnt seem to be breathing and had no movement at all. Her eyes stayed open. I figured that was about it and began just lightly stroking her neck .After about a minute of that she took a huge gasp of air and began breathing again. She still was laying on her side, feet behind her, head back. I could see her breathing and just kept lightly stroking her. She then moved her feet ever so slightly. I felt so bad no knowing what else to do and wanted her to just be comfortable. I let her be for a few minutes and came back and she was the same but was blinking a bit. I decided to try and roll her onto her stomach so she was in a more natural position. As soon as i did she pulled her feet in and straightened her neck. I rolled up and old towel and sheet to support her so she would flop back over ..over about an hour or so I got her some water and when i held it to her beak she drank just a little. I let her be for a bit with some water ..i then came and gave her some very moist food and she began trying to walk again and attacked the food like she had never eaten before. She ate about half a cup of the food but i had to keep putting her beak right into it for her to recognize it was really there. I let her finish she wanted and i had to nap seeing that im a third shifter. I just woke up a bit ago and was expecting the worst just to find her still sitting, supported but alert. Moving her head around and making small peeps every so often. She did try to stand up a bit and did ok but still stumbled and just sat back down .When I hold her up from under her chest she seems to straighten herself out for the most part but still a little crooked. It seems as if she cannot see and if she can it may just be shadows or bright lights. She did eat and drink more when i brought it to her beak again but couldn't find it on her own.

As far as i know there has not been any injury and they haven't gotten into anything to poison them and the other 3 ducks seem completely fine. It seems she can hear them when they're squeaking but doesnt respond ..she did have sone labored breathing but it seems to mainly have gone away. She has been normal since i got her when she was about 2 days old and then this happened out of no where. We can't really afford to take her to a vet and im new to the area i live in so I don't really even have anyone to ask ..im going to try and hit tractor supply on my way into work to see if they have any suggestions but i know how that can go....

Any and all help is welcomed and appreciated!! Thank you so much!!

I'm not sure but you can't go wrong if you get some B-complex at TSC and get her started on it right away! It will be in the cattle dept. 1ml for the duck. It's always good to have on hand anyway so pick some up ASAP!

I agree the Liquid B complex @DuckyDonna rec is the best out there I'd pick some up asap. and put it over something tasty like chopped tomatoes of dried meal worms just enough to get the duckling to get full dose everyday.

Im so sorry, to be honest I dont know much about how to help her medically for the seizures however i would like to share my experience of having a blind duck just in case yours gets better but remains blind. Maybe it will give you some comfort.
Now, I purchased my hen, which she's a muscovy, fully grown about 5 months ago. I dont know why she is blind. The man I got my ducks from didnt even know she was blind just said "that's my tame duck" . We noticed that she moved different than the others. All the others were pretty skittish but we could kick in front of her and she had no reaction and she would constantly run into things. After that we realized she was blind. She is probably the sweetest duck in the planet and very loving and extremely smart. She sweeps her head from side to side and coos to see, like echo location. She has the pen memorized and moves in it like she can see but When anything moves in her environment it really freaks her out. She loves to hear us talk to her. So just spend a little extra time just talking to her and loving on her. Now the other ducks know there is something wrong with her and she did get picked on quite a bit at first. Now everyone just gives her a little peck when they want her to move but a couple of them actually watch out for her. Timmy stays by her side at all times and sleeps in front of her everynight, they have definitely bonded. She's even sitting on a clutch of eggs!! It is pretty spectacular watching another hen teach her what to do. She made the nest for her, when she gets up to eat my other hen momma duck goes onto her nest for about 5 minutes to straighten things up a bit then goes and literally pokes and pushes her back onto the nest then Momma duck goes back to her nest. So needless to say things maybe a little different for her and you have tonput everything back in the same spot everytime. but she gets along great and from what I can tell is very happy. I know she has brought great joy to our family.
I hope this helps you in some way. :hugs

that is the sweetest story ever! I'm so glad you took the time and patience to help your little one instead of just casting her aside.:love
