Sons bought these at the show in Morganton and didn't ask what they were. Can anyone please tell me what they are and how big they will get.

They are full grown. They are probly either Old English Game(OEG) or Dutch. If you got a closer shot at their heads, you could probly find out witch one.

Being that he got them at a show, it'd likely they are purebred bantams.

is the male considered a red and the female a blue? and what happens is they have little ones what colors will they be? Sorry know nothing about these guys. Impulse purchase by the children.

They are Old English Game Bantams.
Would need better closer pictures of them to tell the actual color.
The rooster looks like it could be a Black Breasted Red, Brown Red, Lemon Blue or even a Blue Red hard to tell by the picture and the hen is had to tell by the picture but could be a Lemon Blue.

If you don't mind me asking,

How can you tell that is a B.B. Red and not a Brown Red when the wing is blocked and you cant see leg color? By the picture you cant tell if it is a duck wing pattern or a crow wing pattern.

Also what is a, "standard oegb hen"?

I call the oegb hen a standard. That is just my calling.

the roo looks like a roo I had for some time. I havent seen a oegb roo with that much cape feathering as a bbroegb roo.But for your entertainment here is a pic of both:

OK,
You may have misunderstood my question.

Looking at the OP's picture, How can say for sure that rooster is a Black Breasted Red and not a Brown Red?

The wing and the legs of the OP's rooster is blocked so you cant see the leg color nor can you see if the rooster is a Duck-wing (Black Breasted Red) or a Crow-wing (Brown Red)
I do know the difference between Duck-wing (Black Breasted Red) and a Crow-wing (Brown Red).. Note leg color and wing bay differences.

BB Red (Black Breasted Red)

Brown Breasted Red
A Conner bird (not my bird)

Also from the OP's picture it looks like the rooster has a steel cast/color in the wing and he is somewhat off in the breast color for the breast color to be Black so there is a potability that the rooster could be a Lemon Blue or even a Blue Red and going by what I can see of the hens color I am leaning to the Lemon Blue if he is indeed a Blue.

By "cape" are you referring to Neck Hackles?
