Hey ya'll, Every year my daughters school does a hatch for the kids. The teacher usually get eggs from the extension office, this year they couldn't get them until too late, she wants them by next week because the kids will be out of school end of May. The teacher called me because she knows I have chickens, but I just got rid of my only rooster so I dont have any fertile eggs. I was wondering if anyone could help us out. She does have a budget for eggs although pretty small. I was wondering if anyone had extra eggs they would donate and we would pay shipping. Truly doesn't matter the breed, just possibly light colored eggs so the kids can see through the candling process. A barnyard mix will be just fine.
Can anyone help us?? Thanks so much!

How long ago did you get rid of your rooster? Less than 2-3 weeks, your eggs are probably still fertile. Open a few and look for the bullseye.
Place a wanted ad on the local Craig's List, too, might be better if there's no shipping loss involved.

Best of luck, it's a great project for the kids!

I don't have any fertile eggs at this time either, but I thought I would suggest posting in the wanted section of this website and the Illinios thread if you haven't already.

Ok, thanks guys I'll go post in the wanted section as well! I'm sure there wont be a loss on shipping, she said she has a school debit card to use, If she doesnt have enough funds, I'll pay the extra...it's for the kids!!!
