Maryland with my chickies!!!!!
I have five chickens and I have honestly NEVER hatched them myself. My family has only bought them as tiny chicks to start. I am desperately wanting to hatch them myself with an incubator but my Mom is not allowing it. (The chickens are at my Dad's house and he says we have enough so I can't do it there so I am dependent on my Mother's answer and so far it is no.) Today at school I got nine students to write recommendation letters and one teacher to write a recommendation letter saying why I would be an excellent person to hatch these baby chicks. I was wondering, could people post here please saying how much fun it is to hatch baby chicks or can you write your experiences? Maybe this will help inspire my Mom to allow this.
PLEASE!
Thank you!
Kassidy

One thing that might help in your situation is to find out WHY your mom doesn't want to hatch the baby chicks; then you can address her issues.

Good luck.

I have only done it twice with my small incubator but i know when hatching time came the family was over staring at the bator including my mom who always thought animals were a bother, she was amazed, maybe your mom is afraid something bad might happen and you'l be upset or that she will end up doing all the cleaning up after them. All this depends on how old you are really :) but i agree with alienchick just ask her why not. P.S. chickenbabys mom its super fun and really interesting can be done for very little money if you get the proper info from this site on how to make your own bator dont buy one unless your going to do it often. Hope this helps you a bit.

I only paid for an expensive hands off bator because i live in the countryside in ireland and we have loads of space for chickens, if you will only be doing it once i would recommend making one yourself loads of people on this site can help you its meant to be pretty easy. I will post another picture of the chicks if all goes well they should be here on the 15th april :) !

Hello all! I started with 29 eggs. At day 17 I candled and removed the ones with no sign of life. I'm down to the final 7 and this is day 20. I don't see any pips yet, but hopefully I will soon. If you'd like to view my live feed, feel free. I plan to keep it going until after the hatch. If it happens to be down when you try, try again later. I'm trying to keep a regular check on it and keep it going. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!
