Hello fellow hatchers, I need some quick advice...

I am on day 19 of my hatch. Got up this morning and no sound was coming from my Hovabator, i run over and notice the incubator is not on. ( i have a 110v version running through an adapter, which is kinda loose.....)

I quickly get it back on, and notice the temp inside is 75 F and humitidy 99.... So i open up to get out the humitidy, it is now back to normal. Temperature is back to normal, after about 10 minutes..

Any ideas or suggestions as to what else i can do? Any must-dos? Have i ruined the hatch? Im awaiting 17 Australorps and 11 barred rock by the way :)

Any help is appreciated!

on day 19 they are making a lot of their own heat. depends on how long it was off but i would imagine they will be fine. it may delay hatch for a while. good luck with them. welcome to BYC

Good luck. I hope you will keep us posted on the outcome. We can all learn from each other and ordeals like that.

Ahhhh thanks for the positive answers, i was very worried. :) I'll be sure to keep an update going. 2 days to go!

well welcome to BYC x3

A small update on the hatch: first the background of the mix.

I have 17 eggs that are from Barred rock rooster, Australorps hens(2 hens)

I have 11 Barred rock rooster, barred rock hen (1hen)

Everything seems normal, 10 from the Barred rock/Australorps have hatched, and 3 more have pipped.....my big concern is:

None of the pure Barred rock/ Barred rock combos have hatched. 1 has pipped....do the different breeds vary that much on the pip/zip time? My first hatch came about 12 hours ago. The other 9 have come after that. Should i be wooried? Wait it out? Do anything special?

Thanks for the welcome!
