I am considering getting a 500 pack on small mealworms from this site. https://www.exoticnutrition.com I was wondering if any of you have any experience....... I selected this:

I really don't want to pay 45 dollars more....... :p Please help me! I am very new to this and I need more information on how to raise them. Thank you!!!

I got my live mealworms from PetSmart. They're a lot more expensive per($2.50cad for 50), but i couldn't find a good source in Canada. If there's any kind of pet store around, you could see what they have.
I think mealworms would ship pretty well, they like the dark, they'll pack them with some bran. You could probably go for the slower shipping just fine.

They're dead easy to keep too, don't overthink it. I have mine in a plastic tote with a couple inches of wheat bran and the occasional neglected non-mouldy carrot or potato.

It depends on how soon you want to use them. But if you can wait I would have went with the cheapest shipping. Mealworms are very hardy and they do like warm temperatures.

The reason I didn't go with the cheapest shipping was because they said (on the website) that the longer it takes to ship, the more chance they will be dead when they arrive....... help.... :barnie

I buy my live meal worms through a couple different vendors that cost far less than where most people get their meal worms.

Local retailer markets to those interested in feeding wild birds charge about $7.50 per 500 count large meal worms. You almost certainly have similar in the NE US.

A wholesaler / producer that does a lot of shipping. I have purchased multiple of their largest sized boxes at a time. I use theirs for feeding wild fish I am trying to spawn in a hurry.

Another person is a producer that markets to the wild bird places, but works with me because I am doing research on one of their byproducts.
