Plexiglass Brooder?

I would like to build a plexiglass brooder with drilled holes for ventilation and construction. Has anyone ever in the forums tried this? I've seen glass aquariums used for mostly temporary enclosures so I wonder if my idea might work. Anyone have any advice or experience? I do apologize if a sub-forum for brooders exists and I posted under the wrong cat D:

Hi there,

Acrylic does have some good properties that would make it suitable for a brooder, Ventilation would be key but other than that Acrylic would make a fine brooder. I have personally used it before and never had a problem.

Anything else let me know.

I do have a question actually. How many chicks can be held comfortably in a 24" x 24" plexi glass stall?

Depends for how long.
We had our 2 chicks in a 24" x 24" cardboard box Brooder for the first 3 weeks, and by then they had outgrown it, and we moved them into a dog pen, 36" x 36" for the next 2 weeks.
