hey all my friend told me that i can built an incubator at home i got a wooden box and i connected a lamp to the box i added to cups of water and i putted 9 chicken eggs in the box iam wondering if its possible for the egg to hatch i hope someone help and by the way the temp is about 41 degrees C pls help me i want to know if i keep it on or switch it off

Ok you're temp is too hot for the eggs. You need to measure the temperature at the level of the eggs if there is no fan in there to move the warm air around, or you are not measuring the temperature of the eggs, just the air. The temperature at the eggs should be around 99.5F or one or two degrees above/below. If you don't have a thermostat to turn on and off the heat to regulate the temperature, you are going to have to watch it like a hawk. Too hot and the eggs will die. Too cold and they will grow too slowly and not hatch. Maybe have a search for plans on home made incubators to learn a bit more about it.

Hope this helps, Sarah.

thx a lot but u think i should switch it off or keep it on ?

the Light has to be ON to keep it at temp but you need to find a thermostat to wire into the light so IT can keep it regulated otherwise cancel all plans for roughly the next 23 days and you can be the thermostat building an incubator is much more than a light and a box you need to regulate humidity temperature and keep them in the vacinity they need to be in honestly you should have asked this long before trying to incubate the eggs if you want to save the eggs you have 2 options 1 buy an incubator (you can get a little giant at your local co-op for around 50 dollars) 2 get to work on building an incubator
heres some plans
