Plum pits

My chickens found some plums that had fallen off the trees and at them - I know at least 2 of them got pits. The pits are about the size of a pumpkin seed and little thicker. Are the pits harmful?

I have the same question: My neighbor just gave me a big bag of plums. Do I need to pit them???

The chickens will likely grind up the pits in the crop as they do with other seeds. As far as having a lot of plums, don't overdo it. Treats in moderation.
