I have been looking everywhere for Plymouth rock eggs (white, buff, partridge, barred) I can't find anyone who sells them. I was thinking of hatching some out in the spring to add to my flock of Plymouth girls. Are they just not popular or what??? I have a roo but only a partridge roo and I have a thing about the girls all having a matching roo LOL I know it's crazy. I want to build coops for each set, you know my partridge in one, the whites in another and so forth. Also I want every kinda Plymouth rock that there is so am I missing any???

I'll have some in the spring! I have several Barred Rock girls plus my BR rooster, Hawkeye, and am adding an extra rooster, who is now just 4 weeks old, to the main flock. They're my favorite all-round breed, the Barred Rocks.

I know of a guy who has exibition barred rocks. They are on the expensive side 2.00 a egg. You could probally do better here with people like speckledhen or dipsydoodledoo. Depends on what you are looking for and what you want to do with them.

I should add that my rooster and two of the hens are regular hatchery BRs. The other two pullets have much nicer barring and came from a friend's flock. They all have excellent temperament, and the girls are fantastic layers, but if you want to show them, a good breeder like Dick Horstmann may be the way to go.

It is more of a hobby thing but I would like to have some nice examples of the breed. I won't show them just because I have no desire to. Like I said more of a hobby. I just thought it would be neat to have my girls and then have chickies from them trying to make every new hatch a little better than the last. I think they are beautiful birds and thought it would be a fun hobby.
I am new to this all but I thought anything marked BR meant barred rock and so that is why I assumed all they had were barred rock eggs. Also are there any other Plymouth rock breeds besides the partridge, white, barred and buff? Or a web site dedicated to that breed something I could read up on them as far as their history etc. Trying to get the girls involved and add a little learning to it.

Edited to add: also if anyone has pics of rocks that are good examples of how the breed should look that would be great. Mine are from ideal and I just want to see the differences in them. What to look for etc.
