Hi there.
I hatched 6 chicks from a pure bred Plymouth rooster and supposedly the same with the hens.
Of the six, I got 3 hens and 3 roos.
2 of the boys and oneokf the girls look "normal" as per my untrained eye.
One of the boys and two of the girls have a funny look about the head, kind of pale and their feathers are more spiky. I don't know if it's just a different stage of development, if something wrong with them, or whether it's just different genes/ appearance and they'll be fine. Planning to keep only one of the roosters and was hoping to keep that one as he seems nicer in temperament.
Any feedback appreciated.

Picture 1: rooster with pale/spiky feathered face.

Picture 2: one of the "normal" roosters

Picture 3: a "normal" girl (right) and one of the other girls (left)

Picture 4: pale face/spiky feathered girl.

No two birds develop at exactly the same pace. The red faced ones are just a little faster developing. And those will start mating or laying before their siblings. The "spikey" feathering also is due to being a little slower developing, the feathers are just growing slower.

Nice thanks heaps for that. I hoped that was the case but wondered if anything else was going on. In that case I'll keep the roo in the first picture. Thanks again
