Inquisitive Faces
Inquisitive faces peek at the door
You let them in and they poop on the floor
They get in the dog food, and freak out the cat
It's a bunch of chickens! And layers at that!
And here comes the rooster,
Stepping in time
To a song in his head,
A sweet little rhyme.
The rooster cries cautions
As he tries out chairs,
"Stay out of the knitting!"
"Don't fall down the stairs!"
Then the rooster suggests,
his regal head cocked,
" Let's try the bedrooms;
The doors are unlocked!"
You see them run/flying
Fast down the hall;
Invading the bedrooms,
Marauding them all.
As you come back later,
To your surprise,
They're all perched on the headboard,
And closing their eyes.
