I thought it would be fun to start poetry club on here. so I'll share my poem first this is a poem i wrote about my connection to animals and nature

Since before time sketched its lines of memory
I heard the melodys of mother natures whisper
Silent language like vines were diamond to me
She called my name a tenderly delicate flicker

The creatures of her birth how ever so pure
They are called to me a gift granted by her
They fear not ever, content in my when im near
I receive with gratitude, my heart does stir

When lost in the forest of the restless wind
I quietly hear the secrets the rain told me
the days grow longer and temperature this
My soul belongs to the whispering trees

The earth speaks to those who found the way to listen
We are never stationary for like the the changing leaves
Morning rain holding onto the leaves in light it glistens
The nature in my soul is intricate in twists and its weaves

That's really good. I'm no poet so no critic of it either but do appreciate reading it sometimes.

Don't give up that nobody's posting poems of theirs. Just come up with more of your own and post them, and eventually some others will come along.

Good luck!

Here's a poem that I wrote during the quarantine about not being able to see my family.

I remember the thick carpet that covered the entire floor, the way the fan
whirred through the air overhead, the loud
footsteps of a neighbor above our heads.
I remember eating
Dinner
Lunch
Breakfast
all at the worn white table, the smell of spices swirling between us as we ate and
laughed.
I remember going on walks and finding
secret pathways, all a
kingdom of our own.
I remember feeling free, as if nothing could
stop me.
I remember thinking
This is Home.

~The Cry for Home~

I just want to leave,
Away from this little town.
I'm a stranger in a country,
That I've never known.

I feel like I'm trapped,
Forgotten by everyone I see.
Home feels so distant,
This highway's calling me.

Why can't I feel loved,
Oh to be with family amidst.
To see those great Rockies,
What a welcoming presence.

I used to be a little child,
Dancing in a host of pines.
And deep down I know,
I'm still that child deep inside.

Flipping back the pages,
My story seems so long.
And I just want to know,
If I did anything wrong.

But still, here I am,
In this crowd alone.
The silence that's inside,
Is broken by the cry for home.

I knew you
Before I met you.
I saw your face,
The shape of you,
your clothes even
In a dream.

We walked together
Following fleeting glimpses
Of my Savior.
You helped me.
Over obstacles.
Huge boulders.
Fallen trees.
And together
We went on.
I followed Jesus
And you followed me.

Until the earth shook
And rocks fell
And crushed us
and crushed the life
out of you
As you protected me
With your body
And your love.
and I wept
as I got up
and had to go on
without you.
And I woke, weeping.

So that day I saw you
Standing there
In those very clothes
I knew.
I knew we would walk together.
That I would lead you
To my Lord.
That there would be obstacles
Challenges,
Difficulties.
But we would go
Together.
And then...
Our story would end
Like an earthquake.
And I would have to go on,
Alone.
Without you.

I still miss you.
I do.
But I know
We will meet again.

The World Within

On a distant shore, I know of a place
existing in harmony between every race.
No wars, just peace,
no famine, just feasts.
The land is pristine, no pollution at all,
and it has its own winter, spring, summer, and fall.
In summer, the trees are abundant with fruit,
and harmonies drift from a shepherd boy's flute.
Right in the center is a quiet space,
where I sit in peace with the breeze in my face,
and look all around at this place that's so kind,
then lock it away, safe and sound, in my mind.

I knew you
Before I met you.
I saw your face,
The shape of you,
your clothes even
In a dream.

We walked together

This is beautiful, I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️❤️
