One of my goats got into my rubabrb patch, I removed him right away, but I do know he got some mouth fulls of the leaves which are poisonous. Checking it out on the web said a large amount was required to do damage...what is considered a large amount...a few pounds or a few bites ??? I couldn't find the answer...any one have an idea. He is showing no side affects, but still I'm worried. No access to a vet till tomorrow.

thanks:(

charcoal, now, and lots of it. If you can get the one specifically for animals, that is best, but if not, charcoal from a fish tank filter, or even burn some toast and scrape off the black bits.

mix it up with a cup of cold, strong tea (6 - 8 teabags), a dollop of cooking oil and a hunk of bicarb soda. Squirt it down the goats throat - he wont like it.

it may make him scour but that is okay, if he shows signs of poisoning I'd give him more but if not, just the one dose will be fine. Its not gonna hurt.

Yep, charcoal. Mine have eaten a lot of rhododendron, which is very poisonous to them and I always give them charcoal, even if I've just seen them hanging out by the bushes, just in case.
