Sorry that is a myth. This little one looks like a male, you can already see wattles coming in. Females will not have any significant wattle growth until just before they start to lay, which for Polish is approximately 5 to 6 months of age.

The part about the shape of the crest at hatch and as very young chicks. While there may be a pattern that is discernible, it is not a reliable indicator of gender.
