I'll be getting polish hens (fully adults and already laying) this wednesday, I'm reading about them and it says they may need heat.
If so, how do I give them the heat they need? It's get to -22 Fahrenheit where I live

My mother suggests heat lamps, but I'm so afraid of them.. I know it's not good for them and it's a fire risk

I’m not sure about the heat, but I am pretty sure you should not use heat lamps in a coop.

I had to trim icicles off my splash polish, I also trimmed her back, being careful not to get to the quick. I also trimmed the plooms of my other 2 polish. They didn't have icicles, but it is still better and they can see now.

How do you hold them? I'm scared of getting a scissor to their eye :( they moved a lot when I tried to do it, and their crests are pretty bad, my poor girls can't see anything
