6 week old Polish chicks. Those wattles are making me real nervous… it’s throwing me off though because they both have very different looking hairdos, with the same rate of growth in the wattles department… what do you all think?

I don't like the wattles on either of them, but it's too early to be sure. Give them 2-4 weeks and you'll have a stronger idea of who is what. Unfortunately my current impression is that they're both male.

Yikes. That’s what I’m thinking too.

I could be totally wrong, however, I owned two polish and they looked like this, we were so sad and thought it was two roosters. The cockerel was the one with a mohawk (your photos 4/5) and ours with the round crest and wattles (your 1/2/3) was a hen! Her wattles grew in earlier than I'd ever seen on a pullet and I have had a huge variety of breeds. They didn't end up enormous in the end but they grew in really early! I'm hoping your birds end up like mine did, but I agree early development like in yours is common for cockerels
