It's hard because they are wild little boogers.Need better pictures of backs including shoulders, crests/combs, and a side view including tails. And that still might not help as Polish can be tough.
Yah, try giving a Polish rooster a bath! It's hard because they are wild little boogers.
I am hoping to at least get a few hens out of this batch. I bought a total of 8 from a local breeder. I will keep the best looking rooster for breeding, the rest I will sell or give to friends.Oh yes, they have lots of energy as chicks. Polish are just difficult because the combs are hidden in the crests and the bearded ones have no wattles.
Do the roos normally have a decent attitude? I have had some BAD roosters but I just started raising polish. My obsession started after I got three hens last year. You can't look at them without laughing.Yah, try giving a Polish rooster a bath!View attachment 1399565
Some are good, some are bad, like with any breed, in my opinion. I've had a few extremely skittish and weak Polish cockerels that were pretty useless. The hens just drove them off and there was no mating. But I've had good ones, too. Observation is the best way to inform yourself on which one to keep.Do the roos normally have a decent attitude? You can count on a lone rooster being aggressive, but two, not so much!Do the roos normally have a decent attitude? I have had some BAD roosters but I just started raising polish. My obsession started after I got three hens last year. You can't look at them without laughing.
