We got a couple polish chicks this summer and we knew a couple weeks ago 2 were roosters. They were even attempting to crow. We weren't 100% sure on our black white crested but just recently it's neck feathers and back feathers seem super glossy

We do not have the other 2 we knew were roosters anymore. This one does not act much like a rooster and hasn't tried to crow yet

Any guesses?

I tried to get photos of the feathers the best I could

:barnie We thought he was but we were really wishing that wasn't the case. We techincally aren't allowed to have a rooster according to borough bylaws...we are allowed to have goats and pigs and chickens but no roosters (which seems silly to me)

It's a boy. See the difference between the head crests on the two chickens in the last photo? Roosters have that spiky, hair like crest, and the hens have a more shorter, rounder, poofier crest.
