I have a splash polish about 8 weeks old. Based on every picture I can find, he is a cockrel. This guy is being raised with 2 wyandottes and 2 sex links. He is either sleeping or eating. He lets the girls walk on him and lay on him. Right now the girls are trying to decide who is getting which perch and he is flat out asleep on the floor.

Is this normal?

Thanks
Marlene

I have a 1 yo white laced black polish roo. He is extremely laid back just like you described. Hes not very smart but he is very sweet and carefree

I used to raise Golden Laced Polish and they were very docile chickens. In fact, I had to keep them in a separate enclosure from my standard breeds as they got picked on and battered by the other breeds. I ended up keeping them in a coop/run with my Black Silkies and the two breeds got along fabulously. Having said that, I did have one exception; a Golden Laced Polish rooster named Ivan who was the meanest rooster I ever had. He would attack everything and everyone except me. Interestingly enough, he never attacked me, but everything and everyone else (including my wife and children) were fair game so I ended up getting rid of him. Normally Polish are a very docile breed, but Ivan proved the old saying that where chickens are concerned, there's always an exception to every rule.

Just to give an update. I moved my cute, handsome little man outside and he has turned into a wild man. Not as relaxed as when he growing up. He is 3 1/2 months, crowing and chasing the girls.

I can't keep, him, but I am so excited becaus I found a great home for him. Fingers crossed it all works out.

Hello. Anyone interested in a couple WEB roos? They need a home sooner than later as the run is getting smaller. Also have one Mille fluier, one sultan, and one fave role roo to home. They are all March hatch from meyer.
