I have a 8 month old white crested blue polish rooster, in August as he was molting I noticed the feathers on the back of his head had been plucked out. I first though he got into a fight with one of our leghorns since they are very moody birds. So I took him out and isolated him from the rest of the flock. That was about 4 months ago and since then he has grown his feathers back and every time they grow back they get plucked out as they did before! This has happened 4 times. He is only with one other chicken which is half the size of him that can’t even reach his head there is also 16 others pigeons in the coop with him. The feathers have been plucked out again and I’ve had it with it! Has this happened to anyone or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or what is happening? The pictures are from the first time this happened in August, sorry for bad quality, he is pretty finicky!

This can happen with Polish chicken's crests. Mine always got feathers pecked about once a year. I used BluKote spray every 2-3 days until the feathers completely came in over a month or more. BluKote is staining purple and worked well for me, but it takes time to wear off. The new feathers are very attractive to the other birds.

Alright, thank you I will definetly try that out

Oh so glad I found this post. I have two polish and one is just finishing her molt. I thought she might have mites or lice but can’t find any bugs. My second thought is that others are pecking her feathers. I will try the blue kite and see if that works. I did just get my chickens a kelp supplement to try to avoid any further feather eating.
