Well, I spell it as yolk... but it definitely gets pronounced as yoke.

Nope. Yokes go on steers and oxen in old times books. Plus the L is right there. Same with Knife

I definitely don't say 'yoke' when referring to them, but I don't feel like I pronounce the L in yolk that strongly, either, or at least based on some of the posts here... I guess I'm somewhere in the middle?
