I like the metal 5 gallon waterers. Not the 2 gallon ones as they leaked for me. But you have to keep them level.

I dislike them all! My choice hands down is a plain old pail with horizontal nipples tapped in.

I started this batch of chickens on the horizontal nipples in the brooder and love them. As long as a birdbath heater will keep the 5 gallon bucket ice free in the winter this will be my primary waterer from now on. Clean water and almost no spilled water, what's not to like?

Little Giant Poultry Founts ... bowl type waterers ... on a PEX water line. There was a bit of a learning curve for us, but they are working great now. Instead of carrying & scrubbing waterers, I flush the line and use a toilet brush to swish the bowls. It works great except during the few days of below freezing temps we get in this location.
