The list is a bit confusing as Red Star, Golden Comet, Cinnamon Queen, and Gold Star as all names under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are produced by crossing a red gene rooster with a silver gene hen. These are essentially labels for the same hybird and often the exact same red and silver gene crosses are used for these labels. For example RIR roosters X RIW hens are sold under the Gold Star, Cinnamon Queen, and Golden Comet labels, so there is no difference whatsoever in these three RSLs. Red Star differs from the other three Red Sex Links only in using a Delaware hen in the cross instead of a RIW hen. I've raised Red Sex Links marketed under all of these labels plus other labels which use a LS hen or a silver factor WPR hen and done meticulous egg counts on them, and frankly, I can't tell a difference in their lay rates. They are all egg laying machines churning out more than 300 brown eggs per hen per year.
Actually, where sex links are concerned, my favorites are the Black Sex Links (Black Stars). My Blacks have been friendlier than my Reds (usually), have been just as productive at churning out large brown eggs (300+ per hen per year), and have been slightly better layers in really, cold winter weather. However, I don't think you can go wrong with either sex link variety.
