Hey guys! I posted earlier about these two chicks having issues with holding their heads up and being weak. Someone was helping me on that thread and now for some odd reason it will not let me view the thread . So I will be getting poly-vi-sol for them and vitamin e 400 iu. First off how much vitamine E do i give them? Second off when it comes to poly-vi-sol every thread says with out iron. I can only find poly-visol and then poly-vi-sol with iron but the ingrediants are both showing the same. I have attached pictures of what i think is right but someone please confirm this. And if you were helping me on the other thread thank you again!

Don't know about poly-vi-sol, but iron can form insoluble little clumps inside chickens and eventually cause health problems like rickets. Honestly, I doubt a few days of it will hurt her, but I'll tag @casportpony, just in case.

As for the vitamin E: "Adequate levels of stabilized vitamin E should be used in conjunction with a commercial antioxidant and at least 0.3 ppm selenium. Signs of exudative diathesis and muscular dystrophy due to vitamin E deficiency can be reversed if treatment is begun early by administering vitamin E through the feed or drinking water. Oral administration of a single dose of vitamin E (300 IU per bird) usually causes remission."--https://www.merckvetmanual.com/poultry/nutrition-and-management-poultry/vitamin-deficiencies-in-poultry

So give her 3/4 of a single tablet, and a little bit of selenium.

I gotta be honest and say I have no idea why they should have they shouldn't have it,but I agree, short term use is probably fine. :D

Add this to my list of things to read up on.
