I've seen recommendations for the Poly-Vi-Sol vitamin for various ailments. We had our chicks on antibiotics for a week, and I'm now giving them yogurt as at least one or two have "molasses poops"--goopy dark brown with no urea cap. The only Polyvisol I could find was with Iron--is this going to hurt? Help? And how much?

Thanks!

I dont think the iron will work. From all I have read they all say without iron. I dont know what it would do to them. I mistakingly gave it to a 3 month old polish that had neck issues and it didnt hurt him but I dont think I would give it to a chick.Hopefully someone that uses it will post so you can be sure

I havent tried it but wouldn't, you can OD on iron if taking to much.
Got a Lucky's by you? I was going nuts searching turns out they are now behind the pharmacy counter.

Thank you for the poop pictures. Most of the birds (3 weeks old) have normal poops, but at least a couple are putting out sticky, dark brown, molasses-looking poops. No blood, but not frothy like caecal poops either. It's been going on about a week, and they otherwise seem to be healthy. I'm giving them chick starter, yogurt, and the occasional veggie treat.
